Why: Learn about how the shape and dynamic structure of rivers support habitats for aquatic wildlife and how the MoRPh health check can help guide decisions for river enhancements. This event will provide citizen science training in the Modular River Physical (MoRPh) Survey habitat assessment method.

This river, which leads to the River Thames via the River Brent is being harmed by a variety of different plastic pollution and other items of litter. Saturday June 23 – Sunday 1 July is London Rivers Week 2018

London has over 600km of waterway, with twenty-one tributaries within Greater London and countless smaller streams. London Rivers Week is a celebration of all these places.

Join Thames 21 at Pitshangar Park, Ealing for the River Brent Planting Weekend

With the support of Ealing’s Park Rangers, we will be spending 3 days planting marginal native species along the River Brent as it goes through Pitshanger Park.

Help create an inviting space for people and wildlife, no experience necessary, all tools and equipment will be provided, just turn up on the day and be prepared to get stuck in!

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Meeting 10am in Pitshangar Park at the Bandstand, next to the Will to Win cafe.

Come and join us at the Welsh Harp to manage this north London wetland, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Practical conservation tasks will include meadow management, woodland and reedbed management.
